Planning Board

The Planning Board is a five-member board appointed by the Board of Selectmen for staggering terms.  They were established in 1957 at the annual Town Meeting.  The Planning Board’s primary role is to ensure the orderly growth and development of a municipality.  This is done by preparing a master plan along with advising and recommending programs for the development of the community.  They deal with changes to properties as they relate to subdivisions, mergers, lot line adjustments, etc.

Regular meetings shall normally be held monthly on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m.. Special meetings may be called by the Chairman, or in his/her absence, by the Vice Chairman, at the request of three members of the Board provided public notice and notice to each member is given at least 24 hours in advance of the time of such meeting. Executive sessions shall be held in accordance with NHRSA 91-A:3.
